What Bolt does

Bolt provides a browser-based AI building environment for creating websites, applications, and prototypes from prompts and supporting files.

Its integrated cloud services can shorten the path to a hosted result, while debugging visibility, data migration, dependency control, and recovery still need explicit evaluation.

Model training update, checked September 29, 2026: the account setting covers content created from October 7, 2026 and older material resubmitted to AI features from that date. It defaults on except for EU, UK, and Switzerland accounts. Forge has separate data-sharing terms; this setting does not replace them.

Bolt Forge is a separate open-source-model agent, not another name for Standard or Max. Its research preview runs from September 14 to October 14, 2026. Individual Pro plans include it during that preview; the separate $9/month Lite plan requires a waitlist seat and provides Forge only. Teams and Enterprise are excluded. These are dated preview terms, not a permanent entitlement or a complete pricing comparison.

Forge data boundary: Bolt says it de-identifies prompts, code, project files, configuration, tool activity, edit history, and fix traces before partners store and use them for model training. First use requires agreement. Sessions from the EEA, UK, and Switzerland are excluded from training and datasets under the documented policy.

  • To review training consent, open your avatar → Settings → General → Model training. Turning it off does not change your plan. Check before submitting sensitive material; ShipStackLab has not verified your account's setting or tested enforcement.
  • Before enabling Forge, review its data terms against the material you are authorized to share. Do not assume de-identification makes confidential code or secrets safe to upload, or infer Standard/Max policy from Forge. Leaving Forge stops future collection but does not automatically delete collected data; use the official removal-request process if needed. ShipStackLab has not independently tested training exclusions or deletion.
  • Check the plan as well as the agent: Lite excludes custom domains, security scans, and external Supabase connections. Before an experiment, duplicate the project and record the chosen agent, model, and plan; re-check Pro access when the preview ends.
